Through my experience in dealing with leadership challenges as a senior executive in the public sector and at the C-suite level in the private sector, I have successfully mitigated the top three barriers to innovation—culture, policy, and technology. As a trusted advisor to high-level leaders, I provide strategic insight, expertise, and problem identification, along with innovative solutions, to maximize productivity, efficiency, growth, and mission effectiveness.

As the Founder and President of Sunesis Nexus, Michele Weslander Quaid serves as an independent consultant and certified professional coach collaborating with international leaders in the public and private sectors, academia, and nonprofit organizations, utilizing her experience and expertise in executive leadership, strategic planning, coalition building, technology, innovation, leading change, organizational transformation and operations.
Michele earned a BS in Physics and Engineering Science with honors from Seattle Pacific University and an MS in Optics from the University of Rochester. She is a graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government program for Senior Managers in Government and a Fellow of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff CAPSTONE program.
She has received prestigious honors and awards, including the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. Michele was named one of “DC’s Top 50 Women in Tech” by FedScoop, in the “Power 100” list of influencers by Washington Life, and one of “The 7 Most Powerful Women to Watch” by Entrepreneur Magazine.
Michele is a professional member of the National Speakers Association. She is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP).
